BIOGRAPHY & ARTIST STATEMENT
Tatyana is a contemporary visual artist working within figurative painting and mystical realism. Born in Minsk, Belarus, raised in Israel, she is currently based in Florida, USA.
Her artistic practice developed outside of academic institutions.
The absence of formal training became a deliberate space for independent inquiry into form, perception, and human presence, allowing her work to evolve beyond established stylistic or ideological frameworks. Imagery in Tatyana’s practice originates from nocturnal perception. Images emerge through dreams—not as symbolic narratives, but as lived states and pre-linguistic experiences.
Dreaming functions as a methodological space in which memory, time, and perception converge prior to rational interpretation. Realism in her work is employed not as representation, but as a tool for presence. Faces, gestures, pauses, and traces of time are rendered with precision in order to register psychological and existential depth rather than likeness. Her paintings resist narrative and idealization, emphasizing silence, attention, and inner gravity. T
atyana sold her first artwork at the age of eleven. Since then, painting has remained a continuous process of self-directed study and experiential knowledge. Living across multiple cultural contexts has further shaped the transnational and non-hierarchical nature of her practice. She has participated in exhibitions and art projects in the United States, Europe, and Israel. Her works are held in private and institutional collections. Long-term projects include The Warrior’s Path, a philosophical literary work, and Between Lives, an original Tarot deck conceived as an expanded visual research into memory, identity, and liminality.
ARTIST STATEMENT My practice is grounded in attention. I did not receive formal academic training in painting. My visual language emerged through direct experience, observation, and sustained internal discipline. This position allows me to work outside inherited systems of interpretation and stylistic expectation. Images arrive through dreams. I approach them not as symbols, but as states of being that precede language. Painting becomes a process of translation—bringing an internal, non-verbal experience into material presence without aesthetic mediation. I work with realism because it offers the most precise register of presence. The face, the pause, and the trace of time function as sites of encounter rather than representation. My work does not seek explanation or resolution. It creates a field of sustained looking in which the viewer becomes aware of their own presence.
